Jerry the beagle was stabbed twice and had a BB lodged in his neck, the ASPCA said Friday after an autopsy on the pooch.
Police have charged Brian McCafferty, 28, of the Bronx with stabbing the dog in the chest and stomach, allegedly while drunk Wednesday. Police said McCafferty had a fight with his new wife and took it out on her dog by shooting it with a BB gun before stabbing it.

Analysis showed the stab wound to Jerry’s abdomen was deep and particularly vicious.
“The wound was so gaping you could see the intestines,” said Joseph Pentangelo, a spokesman for the ASPCA. “He lost a significant amount of blood.” Read more..
