Calogero Lorenzo “Chazz” Palminteri is a wise guy. Or, at least, he plays one on screen. The 56-year-old Bronx, N.Y., native has carved a comfortable niche for himself during his film career, with gangsters as his standard fare. But it wasn’t always easy for Palminteri.
“I was trying to break into the major films and I was having a difficult time,” he said. “Finally, I just said, ‘If they won’t give me a great part, I’ll write one myself.’ So, I sat down and I started to write A Bronx Tale.” Read more..
