Cisco details tech plans for new Yankee Stadium

NEW YORK–Cisco Systems is teaming up with the New York Yankees to offer baseball fans an interactive experience at the ballpark and eventually bring that experience to their living rooms.

At a press conference in Manhattan on Tuesday, Cisco CEO John Chambers unveiled details of a new network the company is building for the Bronx Bombers to help them integrate voice, video, and data into their new stadium, which is set to open in April 2009. Read more..

Cisco Technologies to Feature in Yankees’ $1.3 Billion Stadium

 Nov. 10 (Bloomberg) — Cisco Systems Inc., the world’s largest maker of networking equipment, will team with the New York Yankees to incorporate fan-friendly technologies in the Major League Baseball club’s new $1.3 billion stadium.

Cisco Chief Executive Officer John Chambers and Yankees co- chairman Hal Steinbrenner will give specific details of the partnership during a news conference tomorrow at the company’s New York offices, the Yankees said in a news release.

The Yankees’ new stadium is located across the street from the team’s previous home in the Bronx and will be open for play at the start of the 2009 major-league season. Read more..
