Puerto Rican salsa singer Willie Colon has canceled a concert in Lima after being hospitalized in New York for gallbladder stones.

The Bronx-born trombonist and bandleader will not be able to join Marc Anthony for “Salsa de pelicula” in Monumental Stadium in the Peruvian capital. They had planned to honor the late salsa legend Hector Lavoe.

The concert will go on as planned, but those who no longer plan to attend will be reimbursed.

One of Colon’s representatives said the singer faces a delicate _ but not serious _ situation. He is to undergo surgery soon. Read more..
