Bronx: Firefighter Injured in Fall
A firefighter was hurt yesterday afternoon when he fell from an aerial bucket while battling a blaze in an apartment in Highbridge, the Fire Department said. The firefighter, Brian Smith, 43, was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in serious but stable condition.
One apartment resident was also injured in the fire, neighbors said. The fire was on the second floor of a six-story building on Shakespeare Avenue.
