Prisoner from Bronx guilty of killing another inmate

KINGSTON - The state prisoner accused of stabbing one of New York’s most notorious inmates to death last year pleaded guilty Wednesday in Ulster County Court.
Luis Rosado, a Bronx native who was already doing 25 years to life for a 1983 murder, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter, a felony, in connection with the Feb. 20, 2008, stabbing of Larry Davis at the Shawangunk Correctional Facility. Rosado, 43, stabbed Davis to death with a homemade metal shank during a fight in a prison recreation yard.
Davis, 41, gained notoriety in 1986 when a Bronx jury cleared him of charges that he shot six cops. His lawyers argued that Davis was defending himself. He was convicted of weapon-possession charges. He was later convicted of murder. Read more..
