You will find this neighborhood establishment right under the overpass leading up to the Third Ave. Bridge. It has a great selection of typical American dishes such as burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches and grilled steak sandwiches.

Mediterranean dishes such as lamb and vegetable kebabs, as well as hummus and Mediterranean platters, are popular treats. The restaurant serves brunch on the weekends from noon to 4 p.m., and you can try such treats like huevos rancheros for $9, eggs Benedict for $10.50 or French toast and fruit for $7.25. Best of all, you can get a mimosa or Bloody Mary for $3 with any brunch item.

Toll-Free Bridges Already “Tough” on South Bronx and Upper Manhattan

The red lines show southbound routes through the South Bronx via the “free” Third Ave. Bridge and the tolled Triborough. The blue line charts the toll-free northbound route from the FDR across the Willis Avenue Bridge.

All the gnashing of teeth over East River bridge tolls has for the most part drowned out discussion of the Ravitch Commission’s proposal to charge motorists for Harlem River crossings as well. Though the tolls would be substantially lower — matching the (currently) $2 transit base fare — it’s still too much for two officials from the Bronx and Upper Manhattan.

New York City Marathon’s new ‘cheer zones’ let fans represent boroughs

Bronx residents - get ready to be in the zone.

New “cheer zones” along this Sunday’s route of the ING New York City Marathon will let spectators represent their boroughs as they cheer runners from around the world.

Bronx politicians and community leaders will join local residents in the borough’s zone at Graham Triangle, between 138th and 137th Sts. and Third and Lincoln Aves.

The route will bring runners into the Bronx across the Willis Ave. Bridge and back into Manhattan on the Third Ave. Bridge.

State Sen. Jose Serrano and City Council Majority Leader Joel Rivera, both former marathon participants, will be there. Read more..
