A California teen’s death by tiger brought back awful memories for Adele Silverman, whose daughter was fatally mauled at the Bronx Zoo 22 years ago.

Zookeeper Robin Silverman, 24, was attacked by two Siberian tigers when she tried to clean their pen on July 29, 1985.

“When I saw [news of the tiger attack] on television, I started screaming. I changed the channel, but all the channels had it on,” Adele Silverman, 82, said yesterday.

She still blames the zoo for dodging responsibility for her daughter’s death. A Manhattan jury cleared the architect of the tiger encampment in a 1995 negligence trial.

News of the mauling was the lead topic of conversation at the Bronx Zoo yesterday as hundreds of visitors - nervous but undeterred - gazed at the big cats.
